Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind (CVOW) project construction is starting. On February 28th, Dominion Energy, Virginia Maritime Association and the Hampton Roads Alliance are hosting the project’s major contractors seeking Virginia businesses able to provide goods and services needed.

Review the lists of needs and short videos for each major contractor found below to determine if your business is able to meet the supply chain needs of CVOW.

This event provides your business with the ability to schedule a time to talk with the major contractors. We encourage you to check back frequently for additional contractor information.

DEME Offshore is a global solutions provider in the offshore oil, gas and renewables industry. For CVOW, the company is responsible for the transportation and installation of 176 monopile transition piece foundations, three offshore substations and scour protection and the supply and installation of the export and inner-array submarine cable systems (in partnership with Prysmian).

Prysmian Group operates in over 50 countries worldwide and specializes in the manufacturing, installation and commissioning of underground and submarine cables and systems for power and telecom transmission and distribution. For CVOW, the company is supplying inter-array cables system and will supply, install (in partnership with DEME Offshore), test and commission the export cable system.

Virginia International Terminals, LLC (VIT) operates Portsmouth Marine Terminal (PMT), which serves as a staging port for Mid-Atlantic and Northeast offshore wind (OSW) projects.  VIT facilitates the arrival and delivery of offshore wind turbine generator components and foundations.  VIT’s operation consist of stevedoring, marshaling, and storage of all Wind Turbine Generator (WTG) components. Between the fall of 2023 and early 2027, VIT will handle 176 monopiles, transition pieces, towers, nacelles, and 528 blades at PMT, in support of Dominion Energy’s Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind (CVOW) project. VIT expects it will support additional offshore wind projects following the completion of CVOW project.
